Because of this she had to take medicine that made her weak and very sleepy. Most days she would've stayed at home in bed. Sue had to take care of her and make sure she felt okay. After a while they all moved to Mexico. At first Sue stayed at home to finish school. When she went down she found out that life was very urban, her mother has a boyfriend that owns a movie theater and Penelope worked there. She liked it there. She did anything she wanted, and got to stay out late, go to a bar and meet new people. She had a lot of crushes, but she really like this kid named Lincoln. Her Last Death Pages 9-69

Summary- The happy girl that once lived with two parents is now grown up with two kids. In fact, she wasn't happy at all. She has had many bad experiencences. The narrator begins by explaining her current situation. Her mother is in a coma caused by a car accident. She is skeptical about whether to go or not. She is undecided and doesn't know what to do. She thinks of all the times her mother has been seriously hurt and compares it to now. It is tough for her to make the decision because of all the hardships her mother put her through. She deicides not to go. She didn't think that saying that she was going felt true. It felt true when she said she was not. The narrator begins illustrating her life story by giving information about her parents immigration. Her father was ten years older than her mother and she is two years older than her sister Penelope. When her parent got divorced at the age of 5 she, her mom and her sister lived in a hotel. They stayed there until their mother got an apartment.

Quote- "Our mother leaned in the doorway, laughing. "This will all end in tears." She liked to say that"(Sonnenberg 36).

Reaction- The narrator explains their emotions about her family, especially her mother. She uses many examples of foreshadowing and irony. You can almost predict the outcome of her mothers decisions because of her diction and personality. The mother tries to forget about her culture and modernizes. She does not want to be held back because she has children. She gets a live-in babysitter and starts living life to the fullest. Now the real story begins. I think this book is going to be interesting.
